DMZ Tours- Vietnam

The Demilitarized Zone, Vietnam: The Geneva Conference created a demilitarized zone in 1954, at the end of the French-Indochinese War, which divided Vietnam into two separate political entities, north and south. The DMZ, as it is called, covers approximately three miles from north to south, running to the borders of the country in the east and west. Even several decades after the end of the war, it remains littered with landmines, bunkers, old artillery and aging, rusted American tanks. Tour guides take the curious to the sites of significant military events, as well as to entrance to the Ho Chi Minh trail, located near by. The Vinh Moc Tunnels, an expansive network of underground living quarters, has been preserved, fortified and turned into a small museum.
