San Salvador, El Salvador: Maura Clark, Ita Ford, and Dorthey Kazel were nuns from the Maryknoll order who were working in El Salvador during the 1970s and 1980s. Closely associated with and inspired by Archbishop Oscar Romero, the three women, along with layperson Jean Donovon, were kidnapped, raped and killed outside of San Salvador by members of the Salvadorian military on December 2, 1980. The names of the sisters are engraved on the Salvadorian memorial to the disaparacidos of the civil war, which stands in the capital city. A small chapel and cross marker has been erected at the site where their bodies were found.
I am wondering if there will be a Memorial Mass for the US women martyrs, commemorating 30 years since December 2, 1980?
