Kabul, Afghanistan: The Organization for Mine Clearance and Afghan Rehabilitation, a non-government organization which removes landmines from around the country, operates a museum in Kabul, Afghanistan. The museum features over fifty types of mines, removed from a variety of sites from around the country. Because some of the displays contain unexploded or live ordinance, the museum is only open by appointment. The organization conceives of the project as being education motivated, and sees the museum as being able to offer greater awareness of types and models of land mines, thereby preventing civilians from accidental death.
